Popular Nigerian blogger Tim Akinbo, creator of the Nigerian Weblog Ring, has lost his job at TimbaObjects after a series of controversial posts on his blog. The sole proprietor says he fired himself because it was the right thing to do.
Tim the employee had previously read about Americans who were fired for blogging, but the termination of his employment still came to him as a surprise because he didn’t expect his Nigerian employer to stumble upon his blog.
We have obtained a list of the blog entries in question, as well as the reasons why Tim’s Employer deemed them inappropriate for public consumption:
- Free SSL certificates “Promoting anti-corporate group CaCert”
- An alternative to MS Passport “If it’s not Microsoft, it’s evil”
- Macleans is back! “I own shares of the manufacturers of Close-up”
- My first online Interswitch transaction “Promoting a potential competitor”
- Are You Creditworthy? “Suggests that I might not be creditworthy.”
- Finally Tackled Spam “Are you calling me a spammer?”
- AJAX on IE5.0 “That boy knows how much I hate the Ajax team”
- Mbuni: Open source MMS gateway “This probably means, ‘I hate my boss’. How dare you hate me?”
Tim the employer has expressed some regret over the decision to terminate his sole employee - that is, himself. However, he still maintains that he knows he made the right decision.
BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Seun you are mad! That was soo funnny, I was shocked at first
