 Pastor Adeboye’s Prophecies Ignite Indifference

  • January 10th, 2006
  • 6:49 pm

Political leaders have criticized Pastor E.A. Adeboye of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) for his prophecies for 2007 released many months in advance. The prophecies have led to spontaneous eruptions of religious and ethnic disinterest, apathy, and inability-to-give-a-damn all over the country.

We have decided to publish a transcript of the controversial prophecies. This is the most respected man of God in Nigeria, and his words have never fallen to the ground. We all need to study these prophecies so we too can decide whether to zealously ignore them along with the thousands of others who have been mightily unimpressed by them.

1. “The Lord says that Nigeria will be the giant of Africa next year. During the year 2007, there is not going to be a single country throughout Africa with a population as great as ours. As long as we serve him faithfully and attend church regularly, the Lord says our children shall be as numerous as the sands on ten mountains. Crowd: “Amen!”

2. “Some fertile married women will deliver babies in 2007, while many children currently in primary six will gain admission into secondary schools. Many of you who are brilliant final year students in higher institutions will graduate with flying colors during 2007. Most engaged couples with weddings fixed for 2007 will get married!” Crowd: “Amen!”

3. “Daddy says that in the year 2007 there will be a dry season and a rainy season. For Christians, the dry season in January may dry up any puddles on their streets and the rainy season in August will bring them massive showers of water from heaven. Unbelievers will experience the scorching sun during the dry season and their children will be scared by thunder and lightening during the August rains.” Crowd: “Amen!”

4. “Something very bad - very very bad - is going to happen sometime in 2007. I can’t tell you what it is now, but baba says we need to pray to avert this great tragedy from our nation. He says those who dodge their tithes and offerings may be the ones hardest hit by this looming maliase. Nigeria needs to be very very afraid in this next year 2007!” Crowd: “Jesus!”

“Note: You will need to attend the Holy Ghost convention every month till the end of 2007 so we can cry to God and ask him to spare Nigeria from the tragedy, which I will explain to you in 2008 after it has happened.”

Truly hilarious though if you’re smart enough to get it!

It is really very sad that majority of humanity- especially Nigerians, are gullible, faithless, fearful and ignorant…

That is why we have so many churches and men who take advantage of these weaknesses…

I am using this opportunity to beg the people of Nigeria to fast and pray every religion and all politicians to stop thier mysterious agenda for the country because this year God is going to reward every one according to thier deeds. Don’t say I didn’t warn you”

I’m reading over and over to see what I’m missing. I mean, is this a true transcript of his prophecies? This is real or joke?

From the comments I get the impression that it’s real… sad. Regardless of your faith, I believe every person should use reason, it’s a gift for our species.

The last time I made a comment on Adeboye, i got an emphasized “Touch not my Anointed” for an answer. Haven’t really bothered since then to take this unquestioning individuals seriously… Sapære aude said Kant…

Believe it or not Pastor Adeboye is a special gift to this generation of ours. God has used (and still using)him to reveal His power and glory. Accept Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour before it is too late so that when you leave this world you’ll give a good account. Hell fire is real bros!

Every word in his prophecy is common sense, if you apply it, life will go smoothly for you. About something bad happening in Nigeria, I do not believe that and anything that may happen will not only affect Nigeria. It will certainly affect the whole world. Let him not reveal the bad “omen” but let it be known as soon as it happens and please explain it. Let us stop scaring the world about the wrath of God. The Lord loves his people and will not harm them but point us all to the right direction.

Daddy G.O. Adeboye is one one the greatest men of GOD on earth for this generation of ours.
I know him as a truly Man of GOD who says what he had heard from The Almighty One.
I’m warning everybody who is not yet born again to do so; and to pray according to those prophecies.
Take not the love of GOD for granted.
Let me tell you this: Daddy Adeboye cannot lie. He won’t lie. Yes, he won’t.

Well, thank God for the life of the writer and composer of this article, I call him or her “composer” because all these are mere exagerations, and malicious in all entirety.
Millions of people gathered every month to hear this man of God speak prophecies, among whom are Professors, Doctors and great philosophers of our generation; Are you saying they are all fools to hear this type and still continue?
Let the press in whatever form be at least factual and not mis leading.
Sorry to those who get carried away by these exagerrations.
Thank you.

Daddy Adeboye is not an ordinary Pastor. He does not speak for the sake of being heard. He only says what God want him to say and we have been seeing the effects of this prophesies in recent times ( I am a living testimony of his prophesies to individuals through the major gatherings. Please stop slandering this precious vessel of God. That man is precious to God. BEWARE. Go and repent and also publicly ublish your letter of repentace so that u will not be like the unbelieving Lord (chief) in 2 Kings 7:2 that died in 2 kings 7:17. BEWARE.

It should be obvious to anyone that Pastor Adeboye never said any of those things.

All the prophecies are “nonsensical” and were all concoted by the writer to mock Pastor Adeboye.

“Silence is the best answer for a fool”.

It is very unfortunate that we sometimes responds to God’s message base on human knowledge. We have now seen that and confirm that God world will never fall down to the ground without been fufiled. Anyway, my advice for the nation is to rise and pray about this prophecies so that evil occurences will not befall Nigeria again.

It’s quite unfortunate still having some people doubting a man of God like Pastor E.A. Adeboye. This has indeed pin-point that the end shall be like the day of Noah when men are still drinking, partying and committing all sorts of sins despite all warnings not until when the Almighty Himself locked up the door and they all perished. YOU JUST NEED TO REPENT, ELSE!!!!!!

I agree with all the Christians on the website, Pastor Adeboye is truely an amazing man of God!!
However my heart aches for all that have just criticised him. Why not let God be Judge.
You know, it is important not to trash the Body of Christ, espeacially if you are a member of it and if not, why bother even commenting on its
flaws seeing it doesn`t concern you anyways (as an atheist or wherever you stand in your believes).

The thing is that these are propechies. The bible says we should we as His children should not trust all prophets and the only way to know if a prophet is of God is that His prophecies come true. So what you all should do is check to see if the prophecies come to pass. In any case, the Bible also says that we should TOUCH NOT His annointed. So even if you think Pastor Adeboye or any pastor is not of God, the right thing to do is pray for them because if you talk against them, God will judge YOU. Thank God for his Word. We need to read it sometime.!! It has all the answers.

There is no how a bad thing will not happen in a country for 365days- somebody unexpected may die, accident on road or even fire disaster. Because of the poverty, unrighteousness among the leaders, bad governance which have negative effect on maintenance of safety standard in every sector, poor healthcare delivery system, unemployment, greed for power and wealth that people don’t want to labour for, spiritism everywhere; you do not need any prophecy to know what the result can be. Let any prophecy given be specific instead of the way it is generalised and let us judge our ‘men of God’ if they are really speaking from God or from the knowledge of ‘current affairs’ I will also advise our ‘men of God not to be partisan as members of their congregation don’t belong to a single political party or ideology.
Don’t Nigerians think that nations like USA, UK and others that are not so religious like Niogeria are doing well because of the national culture of righteousness (what we have in Nigeria is individual righteousness). God did not made us as robots- we have to think, act and plant a good seed of equity, justice and righteousness void of oppression of the minorities and the less priviledge for us to reap the fruit of prosperity and peace as a nation. Our prayers for our nation can then work otherwise God will continue to be blessing us on individual basis.

I am not sure Pastor Adeboye would give common-place prophecies attributed to him. It is unfair to present Pastor Adeboye in this negative light.Pastor Adeboye is a true man of God and this is attested to by the number of parishes that God has used him to set up all over the world. However, I honestly have some problem with some of his sayings. For instance, I have heard him say that “there is someone here tonight, my father says that you will never weep again.” I do not understand that because Jesus wept (John 11:35), and Paul teaches that we should rejoice with those who rejoice and weep with those who weep. I believe that Pastor Adeboye ought to throw more light on some of his statements so that we can fully understand him. If you ask me, I will say that he is a special man of God like Elijah and Elisha. He is truly great and anointed of the Lord. I have a lot of respect for him and his wife. We thank God for them.

The prophesies have already started coming to pass, what we all need to know especially as Nigerians is that God is merely using this revered son of His to tell what is going to happen…prophesies do not just come to pass, they are made to come to pass by His children. Thus negavtive ones can be averted and positive ones prayed to manifestation.

Below is Pastor Adeboye’s prophecy copied from the RCCG website verbatim. Compare and contrast this with the above posting.

PROPHECY FOR INDIVIDUAL

1. The Year will be a pleasant year for heaven seekers
2. It will not be a very pleasant year for the Lukewarm and Backsliders
3. For Heaven Seekers, there will be accelerated promotion as a result of divine Guidance and Involvement
4. Rewards for dedication and commitment to God’s work will be in the form of Blessings that will exceed all human imaginations
5. For some there will be unexpected dramatic promotions both Physically and especially Spiritually
6. Some will experience a complete change in Direction and destiny
7. For some, there will be incidence of great Joy and celebrations

PROPHECY FOR NIGERIA

1. Coming Elections will be far more peaceful than expected but serious prayers will be needed afterwards
2. Economic recovery will continue
3. This year will mark the beginning of the end for a principal enemy of this nation
4. Major Anti-Christians will suffer private and personal mishaps

PROPHECY FOR THE WORLD

1. Intense prayers is needed to at least ameliorate major catastrophes like Floods, Earthquakes and Hurricanes

i think the problem we have is that we are looking for some kind of fix-it pastor. when will we learn thats there is no such thing. what the said has said is what his god has told him, and if u belive what comes out of anothe mans mouth in the name of God then so be it.

I think the time has come when we should start going to church for our personal relationships with God, rather that as a quick fix solution or all our problems.

i a nutshell, devlope ur personal relationship with the all mighty, rather that hang on to every word that comes out of a mans mouth.

Daddy says whatever God ask him to say, he is not useing himself.
Believe it or not the word of God must come to pass. nothing u say can stop him from doing his father’s work.

I don’t think you (website ownner) should trivialise spiritual things and then ascribe falsehood to true men of God most especially Pastor E.A. Adeboye just because of your ignorance. When a man ascribes the work of the Holy Spirit to Satan, he sins against the Holy Spirit and such sin has no forgiveness. So leave your ignorance and repent. Why must you die in your sin? Look elsewhere for your jokes and not spiritual things - distorting the word of God from a man like E.A. Adeboye. May the Lord have mercy on you. Amen

Gaddemit! All these born-again are pathetic idiots! Arrrgh! Can’t you all discern that the guy, Seun, was only having fun? And, so what if he “mocked” your so-called “Daddy!” After all, his “prophecies,” to me, are nothing but conjectures. Imagine these:

(his supposed 2007 prophecies)

“PROPHECY FOR INDIVIDUAL

1. The Year will be a pleasant year for heaven seekers

REALLY?

2. It will not be a very pleasant year for the Lukewarm and Backsliders

THIS ONE NA EPE. JUST BECAUSE PEEPS ARE NOT BUYING INTO YOUR MADNESS DOES NOT CALL FOR EPE KE. ABI, WHICH ONE NOW?

3. For Heaven Seekers, there will be accelerated promotion as a result of divine Guidance and Involvement

HOW MANY OF YOU GOT PROMOTED LAST YEAR? TELL THE TRUTH!

4. Rewards for dedication and commitment to God’s work will be in the form of Blessings that will exceed all human imaginations

OF COURSE, THIS IS NORMAL.

5. For some there will be unexpected dramatic promotions both Physically and especially Spiritually

WHY DIDN”T HE MENTION THEIR NAMES INSTEAD OF JUST SAYING “FOR SOME”?

6. Some will experience a complete change in Direction and destiny

AGAIN, WHO? WE NEED NAMES.

7. For some, there will be incidence of great Joy and celebrations

THIS WAS SO GENERAL IN A COUNTRY OF 180MILLIONS!

PROPHECY FOR NIGERIA

1. Coming Elections will be far more peaceful than expected but serious prayers will be needed afterwards

WAS THE ELECTION THAT “PEACEFUL”?

2. Economic recovery will continue

INDEED!

3. This year will mark the beginning of the end for a principal enemy of this nation

WHO WAS THAT ENEMY? WHAT WAS HIS/HER NAME? WHITE OR BLACK? ARAB OR JEW? GIVE US THE NAME — JUST DON’T GENERALIZE.

4. Major Anti-Christians will suffer private and personal mishaps

THESE SO-CALLED BORN-AGAIN ARE REAL MUNGUNS

PROPHECY FOR THE WORLD

1. Intense prayers is needed to at least ameliorate major catastrophes like Floods, Earthquakes and Hurricanes

COMMON MISHAPS — NOTHING NEW, ABEG!

2. An Evil Organization will suffer yet another terrible blow”

WHICH ORGANIZATION? NAME THE NAME!
